Auditions
Richmond Philharmonic conducts auditions on a continuing basis for seats or for substitutes. If you are interested in joining the Philharmonic as a volunteer musician, send an email to Personnel.rpo@gmail.com. Please tell us your:

Audition requirements:
The Music Director and one or two musicians will conduct your audition.
Audition requirements for strings:
Please be prepared to play one major and one minor scale of your choosing, both at least three octaves. Also required are up to three of the excepts found in the audition packages below:
Audition requirements for winds:
Please be prepared to play one major and one minor scale of your choosing, both least two octaves. Also required are two selections of your own choosing that clearly demonstrate your skills and range. We prefer choices from standard orchestral repertoire such as excerpts, etudes, concertos or sonatas.
Rehearsals: Monday evenings from 7-9:30 p.m., September through mid-June, at Grace Baptist Church in Richmond. Dress rehearsals take place the Saturday before a Masterworks concert.
