The musicians will be wearing tuxedos and formal black outfits, but you can wear whatever you want. We want you to be comfortable!

There is no rule about clapping— in fact, we want you to clap when you feel like it! Here's a good article on the history and etiquette on clapping. However, please don’t take flash photography during the performance, and avoid other potentially distracting actions such as talking. Besides, the music is usually so intense or beautiful, you’ll want to focus on it!

Most concerts are between 1½ and 2 hours, including a 15-minute intermission. Our winter holiday and summer pops concerts are about 1 hour long.

Many of our concerts are in the excellent new concert hall at St. Christopher’s School in Richmond’s West End. Other times, we perform in museums, churches, and other locations all around Richmond. Check the details for each performance for links to directions.

Come to our pre-concert talks. Maestro Wilson shares stories about the composers and music, and he often interviews our soloists. It’s a great chance to ask questions and get warmed up for the show!
